City of Cleveland Bikeways
The city of Cleveland has an ever-growing network of bike lanes, signed on-street bike routes, and dedicated bike paths. On this page, we're highlighting a few of the best known bike trails. For the latest details on Cleveland's efforts to become more bicycle-friendly, go to their Bikeway Master Plan page.
Lakefront Bikeway
Cleveland's Lakefront Bikeway is a combination of off-street bike paths and signed on-street routes along the shore of Lake Erie. The eastern end starts on Lakeshore Boulevard at the Cleveland-Euclid border, and the route goes west all the way to Edgewater Park.
The longest stretch of dedicated bike path on the route runs from E. 55th St. to E. 156th St.
Morgana Run Trail
Part of the Slavic Village Greenway, the Morgana Run Trail arcs through this historic neighborhood on a paved surface for a little over 2 miles. The south/east end is at Jones Road (just off Broadway Avenue). The north/west end is at E. 49th St. You can use the bike lane to go south on E. 49th St. to the Cleveland Metroparks Washington Reservation, then use their dedicated bike path to head further south to the Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation and the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail.
Harrison-Dillard Bikeway
The Harrison-Dillard Bikeway runs parallel to MLK Drive, from the Lakefront Bikeway, south for 3.74 miles through Cleveland’s Cultural Gardens in Rockefeller Park.
Lake to Lakes Trail
The Lake to Lakes Trail uses the Harrison-Dillard Bikeway, then continues further southeast through University Circle and ends at Shaker Lakes Park in Shaker Heights.
Cleveland Foundation Centennial Lake Link Trail
This trail currently consists of two brief segments. A one-half-mile piece connects at the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail from Scranton Road, and extends up to Columbus Road.
The second is another not-quite-half-mile piece through the Irishtown Bend neighborhood to the north. If you continue over the bridge and across the river, you get the Whiskey Island Park, where you can continue on another dedicated paved bike path to Edgewater Park.
The two pieces will be connected during the redevelopment of the Irishtown Bend area on the Cuyahoga River in the next few years.
