Tour de CC
Visit all three of our stores by bike!
Newly scouted as of 2023, the Tour de CC is a bicycling route that connects all three Century Cycles store locations. The route is a total of approximately 89 miles and is divided into three segments for each store-to-store section. The mileage on each segment is started at zero so that you can start at any store you wish. We've mapped it out in a clockwise direction, but you can do it in the opposite direction if you'd like to take a crack at reversing our steps!
You can refuel with energy bars and water at any of our stores. There are convenience stores and restaurants along the route if you need something more.
The Tour de CC route uses less-traveled back roads wherever possible, but you should be an experienced cyclist who is comfortable sharing the roadway with motorized vehicle traffic. All types of terrain is involved, from rural areas to city streets, and long, flat sections, to steep climbs and descents.
Medina to Rocky River
The Medina to Rocky River segment of the Tour de CC starts in the quiet farm country of Medina County. Once you cross into Cuyahoga County, you will be on one of the busiest sections of the route as you pass through Strongsville and into Berea. There is a nice stretch through the Cleveland Metroparks; the route follows the Valley Parkway, but you can also opt to use the paved All-Purpose Trail that parallels the parkway. The final mile is through the busy business district of Rocky River before you arrive at your destination, our Rocky River store.
Rocky River to Peninsula
If you just finished the Medina to Rocky River route, then you'll be doing a little backtracking when you leave Rocky River, as the route to Peninsula follows the same roads out of Rocky River and back down through the Cleveland Metroparks. You will stay in the Metroparks longer, however, following the main park road all the way to Brecksville. You can opt to use the paved All-Purpase Trail that parallels most of the parkway. From Brecksville, you'll be riding in the scenic Cuyahoga Valley National Park until you reach your final destination. Once you are out of the Rocky River business district near the beginning of the ride, this segment of the Tour de CC has the fewest services available along the route, so plan your food and drink needs accordingly.
Peninsula to Medina
This segment of the Tour de CC starts with a few miles in the scenic Cuyahoga Valley National Park, followed by a long, gradual climb as you leave the valley. The climb out of the valley takes you up long and steep Wheatley Road to get around the section of Everett Road that was closed as of January 2018. Save some of your energy, though, because the back roads of Medina County provide a few more challenging hills before you reach your destination.
