BRAIN: Have a Cup of Joe at Kryptonite Booth

The feedback from our event Bob Roll Rocks Century Cycles was so overwhelming that they are using our pictures to promote the same event in the years since, as you can see in this special Interbike Day One edition of Bicycle Retailer and Industry News on Sept. 26, 2007:

If you want to meet Bob Rool, make sure to stop by Kryptonite Booth 3319. As part of the company's brand re-launch, Kryptonite is inviting retailers to have a cup of joe with the former racer and Team Kryptonite. Roll will be at the booth today and tomorrow from 10 to 11 a.m.

Kryptonite is again offering retailers a chance to win a visit to their shop by Bob Roll. Shop owners and managers visiting the booth can enter the contest by leaving their business card in the barrel. Winners' names will be drawn on Friday at 11 a.m.

"Kryptonite wants our customers to feel as good about having an adventure off the bike as they do about being on their favorite bike," said Karen Rizzo, Kryptonite's director of marketing. "We are not only giving away prizes that draw customers into dealers' stores, but also that make them want to stay and create a relationship with the staff of that store. We hope this will have a long-term positive impact on the shop."

The third place winner will receive Kryptonite coffee mugs and a supply of coffee for teh shop. The second place winner will receive two director's chairs, a dozen mugs and coffee for the shop. The grand prize will be a visit by Bob Roll to the winning shop as well as four director's chairs, a dozen coffee mugs and coffee for the shop.

New for this year, the winning retailer can choose from two options: "An Evening with Bob Roll" where Roll will talk with new and existing customers about riding, racing, The Tour and a host of other topics as he has done the past three years at the winning shops, or "A Ride & Coffee with Bob Roll" where Roll would join the dealer and a few of the shop's top customers on a morning ride and then return to the shop for coffee with the group.

Jose Pardo of West Broward Cycle Center was the winner of the Bob Roll visit last year. Roll visited Pardo's shop the weekend after the 2007 Tour de France and entertained a full house with behind-the-scenes information from teh Tour. Roll also visited Century Cycles in Ohio and Action Wheelsport in Florida.
