Bag the Bags and win prizes at Century Cycles’ annual Spring Kick-Off Party

Rocky River, OH – Spring weather is just around the corner, and to help you celebrate and Get Your Spring Rolling, Century Cycles is having their annual Spring Kick-Off Party. The party will take place on Friday, March 4, 2016.

The event begins at 7:00pm at the Century Cycles bicycle shop located at 19955 Detroit Road in Rocky River, Ohio. The event is free and open to the public.

Guests can enjoy complimentary food and beverages, including two different beers custom-brewed by the Century Cycles staff at The Brew Kettle in Strongsville. Each visitor will also receive one entry into a raffle drawing for prizes of cool bicycling clothing and accessories.

Century Cycles is serious about doing everything they can to reduce their impact on the environment. This means not only riding their bikes and helping their customers ride their bikes more often. It also means recycling, and using less of what can't be recycled.

For this Spring Kick-Off Party, the company is focusing on one item in particular: plastic shopping bags. Studies show that people around the world use over one million plastic bags per minute, or over 750 billion every year. The average American household brings home over 1,500 plastic shopping bags per year. Scientists estimate that every square mile of ocean contains 46,000 pieces of floating plastic. Plastic bags take over 1,000 years to decompose in the environment, and producing only 14 plastic bags uses the same amount of petroleum as it would take to drive a car one mile.

To encourage everyone to Bag the Bags and reduce, reuse, and recycle plastic shopping bags, they are offering EXTRA chances to win in the prize raffle. For every bag full of plastic shopping bags that a guest brings to the party, they will get one extra ticket for the raffle (limit of 10 extra tickets per attendee). The prize drawings will be held at 8:30pm, and winners must be present. Everyone who brings ANY plastic bags will receive a FREE Century Cycles Re-Usable Grocery Bag!
