Century Cycles Announces 2014 Schedule of Group Road Bike Rides

Rocky River, OH – For the first time in the local chain's 22-year history, Century Cycles bicycle stores have scheduled organized group road bike rides from all three of their Northeast Ohio locations.

The rides have been dubbed Sunday Services Group Road Bike Rides, and are open to all skill levels. Riders need to have their own bicycle; road bikes or "fitness" bikes are recommended. Helmets are required. Each ride will be about 18 to 25 miles long. The pace will be moderate; no riders will be left behind, as the group, led by Century Cycles staff, will wait at each turning point in the route for all riders to catch up.

Each store will host one ride per month, April through October, weather permitting.

In Medina (1059 N. Court Street, in the Marc's shopping plaza), the group ride will take place on the 3rd Sunday of the month, except for in April, when it will occur on the 4th Sunday, since the 3rd Sunday is Easter Sunday. Meet the group outside the front door of the store. All rides begin promptly at 8:30am. The dates of the Medina rides are:

April 27
May 18
June 15
July 20
August 17
September 21
October 19

In Peninsula (1621 Main Street, next to the Winking Lizard Tavern), the group ride will take place on the 1st Sunday of the month. Meet in the store parking lot. The dates and times of the Peninsula rides are:

April 6, 10:00am
May 4, 10:00am
June 1, 8:00am
July 6, 8:00am
August 3, 8:00am
September 7, 10:00am
October 5, 10:00am

In Rocky River (19955 Detroit Road, next to Herb's Tavern), the group ride will take place on the 2nd Sunday of the month. Meet in the parking lot behind the store. All rides begin promptly at 8:00am. The dates of the Rocky River rides are:

April 13
May 11
June 8
July 13
August 10
September 14
October 12

There is no cost to participate in the Sunday Services Group Road Bike Rides, and no advance registration is necessary.

Riders are expected to be familiar with and follow all traffic laws. Although help will be available should you get a flat tire or similar issue, you should plan to be self-sufficient and have the usual supplies that every bicycle rider should carry.
