Final 2009 Century Cycles Night Ride on the Towpath Trail is October 9

Local ride was featured in national bicycling publication

Peninsula, Ohio (September 30, 2009) - The final Century Cycles Night Ride on the Towpath Trail of the year is Friday, October 9, at 8 p.m. The popular moonlight ride was featured in the October issue of Bicycling Magazine as a great local ride and is finishing its most highly-attended year in its 14-year history.

Century Cycles Night Rides are FREE group bicycle rides at night along one of the area's most popular bike paths, the Towpath Trail in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The ride makes for a fun family outing, a unique date night, or a just a great bicycle ride with friends by moonlight.

To celebrate the finale of the most well-attended Night Ride season ever (each ride in 2009 averaged over 100 participants), Century Cycles will be handing out free glow-in-the-dark goodies and is encouraging participants to dress up their bike or themselves. (Caution should be taken to ensure decorations or costumes stay out of spokes or chains.)

Century Cycles Night Rides on the Towpath Trail are FREE and open to riders of all ages and abilities, with no pre-registration necessary. Each moderately-paced ride starts promptly at 8 p.m. in the parking lot of the Century Cycles in Peninsula and is approximately 15-20 miles long (about two hours). Parking is available at the Lock 29 Trailhead, just north of the store. Helmets and bike lights are required and very necessary - the sun will set on October 9 before the ride start-time. Children 15 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
