Rocky River Chatter by Sue Botos

READY TO ROLL: Get those bikes ready for the third annual Rocky River Bicycle Fair May 2 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Rocky River Middle School. Residents are invited to bring their bikes for a free safety inspection and the chance to win a bike helmet, get a free license, learn about the benefits of biking and and kick off National Bike Month. The event is free and open to the public. The fair also serves as the start for the third annual Rocky River Bike to School Challenge, May 6-23. During the past two years, bicycling at the middle school has increased by 500 percent during May due to the challenge, sponsored by Century Cycles. Last year, students rode about 12,240 miles during the challenge, saving their parents an estimated $2,047.50 in gas.
