PENINSULA — Century Cycles is putting the old-fashioned slumber party on two wheels for its Fourth Annual Pajama Party Night Ride on the Towpath Trail Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Century Cycles store, 1621 Main St. The nighttime bicycle ride in bedtime clothes is free, with no preregistration necessary, open to the public and suitable for all levels of bicyclists. Riders are asked to bring a new children’s book, stuffed animal or small flannel blanket for Project Night Night, a children’s charity that provides nighttime comfort packages to homeless children. The festivities will start in the parking lot with cycle-your-own-smoothies on the blender bicycle, glow-in-the-dark goodies and bike accessory giveaways, as well as a few rounds of “Spin the Water Bottle for Cycling Truth or Dare.” At 8 p.m., the rolling slumber party will head to the Towpath Trail for a 14-mile bike ride, featuring snacks at the turnaround point and a monster movie at The Winking Lizard afterward (riders are responsible for their own tab at the restaurant). Bike helmets and headlights are required, and riders 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
